Nelson London Bates – Founder — Art Investor

During my tenure with the Walt Disney Company, I had the privilege of working alongside the innovative minds of the Disney Imagineers.

Witnessing their ability to dream enchanting ideas AND bring them to life, was inspiring.

That’s when I knew it was what I aspired to do—with a unique twist.

I felt destined to not only dream, but to own the rights to those dreams.

So I ventured out on my own, embarking on a journey of building everything from the ground up.

Most recently, I’ve built Miss Higley’s Art — a charming children’s art business, into a resplendent success by uniquely adding each child’s name to each framed artwork.

And how did Miss Higley’s Art get its’ start.

I was in a Target store with my three-year-old daughter, standing in the Baseball Card isle; when I noticed they had three full racks of Garbage Pail Kids for sale.

I was impressed that something I collected as a kid in 1985, was still being sold in Target.

I know shelf-space is very valuable and thought these silly portraits must be very profitable.

And they are.

Amazingly, they were still using some of the same artwork from the ’80’s — when the idea popped-in-my head that I’d like to do some interesting children’s art, the whole family can enjoy.

And that’s how Miss Higley’s Art, got its’ start!

Here I am at my daughters school for a 30-minute presentation about my Art business.  I wasn’t prepared they’d go BONKERS for the Art.

It was honestly one of the best days of my life realizing I’m living my childhood dream!

School Year 2024-2025.

Before building my art business, I owned The Bonsaiii Company.

A truly beautiful and enjoyable business that sold world-class, gallery-quality bonsai.

It was during this time when my fascination with plants, soils, and natural fertilizers began.

Before The Bonsaiii Company, I served as the lead Web Master for Walt Disney World.  Where I ushered in the digital-era at the most magical-place-on-Earth.

Before that, I Founded The Entrepreneurs Studio, LLC — which was a creative advertising company that built imaginative marketing campaigns for companies. (Sold in 2016.)

In 2006 I started BestWebsite.com® LLC and ran it for 5 years.  It taught others how to build successful Web businesses of their own (Acquired, 2012).

In 2003 I invented the Web’s most used Website Appraisal system to value Internet companies.

In 2002 I Founded BuySellWebsite.com, LLC and built it into the #1 Ranked Website For-Sale Marketplace Worldwide.³

In 1995 I pioneered the Web Marketing industry with the original Internet Marketing Center™ website.

I’m probably best known for my creative marketing strategies to build businesses.

I’m enthralled with beautiful design, and elegant marketing and live in sunny Orlando, Florida with my Family.

And last but not least, my dream project. To build a nature conservatory for the whole family called The Barefoot Conservatory.

A place to take your shoes off and play on the fresh grass, walk on the soft terracotta tile, play games with the kids and learn about all things nature and how they relate to health.

A healthy utopia with a wealth of fun, rejuvenating activities and fresh healthy food.
